Project 48 is a project that I have been working towards for most of 2015. It is a simple concept: give away quality underground track for a whole year – easier said, than done. This is most definitely a labor of love and is one way for me to reflect the state of the House Music industry as it stands with its commoditization, emphasis on celebrity over substance etc and so Project 48 is my attempt to bring the focus back to the music and share my creative output with the world. Project 48 tracks will always have a fundamentally Underground slant with hints of Soul and Deep driving grooves made with the dance floor in mind. Each track is professionally produced in my home studio and professionally mastered by Matthew Sargeant (the man behind No Dough Records). This is my best work with countless hours spent on polishing life into each tune. Each week I will release a track to be downloadable for “name your own price” or completely for free.  All the tracks will be available on my Bandcamp page HERE.

ABOUT ME:

I’m a DJ and House Music Producer with a passion for deep driving grooves with a tasteful touch of soul.  I am also one half owner of Silence In Metropolis a Washington DC-based imprint which has had support from the likes of Satoshie Tomiie, Groove Armada, Kerri Chandler, DJ Sneak, Catz-N-Dogz and many more.

I’ve been part of the DC underground dance music scene since 1996 and have been DJ’ing and producing since 2000.  I got started in DC’s nightlife scene when frequenting night clubs like Zei Club and Spy club located in Zei Alley in the late 90s and early 2000s.  This is where my love for House Music started.  While DJ’ing house parties and college parties and taking wedding gigs on a weekly basis I expanded my musical influences and started to spin with vinyl and make dance edits of tracks in my home studio.  From there I started getting bookings in DC hot spots like Vetro, Josephine, Gazuza lounge, The Park and Lotus Lounge.  DC’s nightlife saw an explosion in the underground scene when places like U Street Music Hall and more recently Flash opened their doors.  I’ve DJ’ed at both renowned venues where I’ve shared the DJ booth with the likes of Pleasurekraft, Matthew Dear, George Fitzgerald, Lee Foss, Detroit Swindle, Danny Daze, Huxley, Ryan Crosson, Tanner Ross & many more.

My productions have an underground quality that have a focus on strong grooves with soulful elements that are tailored for dance floors. My tracks have been supported by underground heads like Claudio Coccoluto, Danny Howells, X-Press 2, Balcazaar & Sordo, Leftwing & Kody, Kellerkind, Droog, Giom, Walker & Royce and many more.  I’ve signed tracks to great amazing labels such as: Kolour Recordings, King Street Sounds, i! Records, Open Bar Music, HEAVY Records, Something Different Records and many more.
